Try websites like Amazon.com, Overstock.com, ebay.com or you can even use google to find where you can buy them. Many places still have them available even though from what I understand WotC is discontinuing them.
But the cheapest way is to sign up for the D&D Insider account, which among other things has a character builder, that prints out the cards along with your character sheet. I know you have stated before that you don't have a lot of $$$, but honestly $10 for a monthly membership will be cheaper in the long run than spending $12-20 on cards that are incomplete and only for a single specific class. With the Insider account you get access to the char builder (and what I mentioned above), the Compendium; which gives you access to all the various monsters long with ways to customize their levels and abilities; access to the archives of both Dungeon Magazine and Dragon magazine along with current issues, which is a great resource, and much more. It is well worth the $10 a month in my opinion.....

If you're making tiles that are of the scale of 1 inch= 5 feet, you're probably going to want to add a half inch more to the width of the tiles than you want the width to be as your wall pieces are likely to be about 1/4 inch in width. That will keep your tile width the correct size between the "walls"... Look forward to seeing pics of your work over on the new forums

Um...stealing most of that fyi... Is that raised part separate from the base? Storing it could be a pain otherwise. Ive been planning a kobold adventure for my kids and that cave system, especially the raised bit will probably be it. Feel free to steal/borrow/ whatever with any of this stuff, lol. As for the riser section, actually it is connected, but I use large plastic boxes for storing, and designed it to be reusable (as opposed to many of my other tiles, lol) so it should be ok. the stalactites are removable though which helps and i am working on some Mushroom/fungus mounds as well.... (looking for purple modeling moss or lichen if anyone knows of any or any links and can share that would be awesome ). All the stalactites are made the way DMScotty has done in his tutorial, and the raised part is just a cardboard frame (walls) cut and with cardstock over the top. If you make yours please post pics.

Very true! I personally enjoy having some 3d elements in my games, but there's no way we could comfortably play with a full 3d, even though they are often stunning and great as diorama pieces. I looked at the DF stuff as well as the Hirst Arts stuff and while some of it is quite impressive the cost is a huge turn off, especially these days in this economy. I have found DMScotty's, DMG's and the methods use by other crafters here to work beautifully and very inspirational to my own crafting.... Thank you all Edit: What I will say about those pics is that the Otherworld minis they have are absolutely stunning....Those spiders and myconids are so awesome....gonna add those to my wanted list!

And so tonight it begins.....My group of intrepid drow adventurers set off to find out what had happened to a previous group that had been sent to the abandoned outpost of Sezz'ia and if need be procure the magic of an ancient altar and its divine implement for Lolth, the Spider Queen, to use in the spinning of her Demon Weave. Here the party has stumbled upon a cavern filled with several dead drow as well as the denizens that killed them. Here we see a Bregan D'aerthe mercenary, the lovely alu-fiend Khaele, has flown up and engaged a cave fisher spawn. As the battle continues, we see that Khaele continues to engage the Cave Fishers up close, while the draegloth, Urathaer has engaged an ochre jelly as well as another cave fisher spawn. The battle was bloody but the party managed to clear the cavern of all its denizens and proceed onward... ...and into an ambush by svirfneblin in one of their mines. Here we see Khaele and Urathear once again in the thick of the action, along with Zildrynna, the Inquisitor of Lolth (Hexblade), Nadryn, the nethermancer, Nal'tyrr, the assassin, and Zendina, the necromancer.... A couple of svirfneblin slingers pelted the party from range.... Khaele teleports down the hallway to dispatch a couple of svirfneblin miners while the rest of the party keeps the rest of the foul gray gnomes distracted... And the same part of the fight from another angle... The party managed to clear the mines of the dirty svirfneblin scum, and decided to take a bit of a rest before moving forward in search of the outpost of Sezz'ia once again.

Dungeon Tiles - I make mine. Lots of links here on this site and on youtube.
Item Info- found in the books I have (Listed sources in your other thread.)I also use the D&D tools found on the D&D website, as I have a membership. Best investment I have made, as the Character Builder, Adventure Tools, and Compendium have been invaluable.
Monster Info- Adventure Compendium, Monster Manual and various adventure modules.

So how can I get items? I meen it comes with a VERY small deck of item cards but where can I bet items? I mean I've looked FOREVER and I can't find either official item cards or books, or some decent homebrew ones. When they're homebrew it says the item name and the cost but not what it does and how mush say health you get, or whatever it is. Where can I find some? The dungeon masters guide has a section that is full of different magic items. As do the Players Handbooks, Adventurers Vault Books, Heroes of the Fallen Lands, Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms, and Mordenkainen's Magnificient Emporium books. The printed item cards are just accessories and are not needed, you can write them on character sheets or 3.5 cards.

You could also look into the Games Workshop "Hobbit" minis...maybe the Goblin King could be converted/painted to look female and might work... although sadly Games Workshop is pricey...

I imagine world building is both difficult and rewarding. It's something I have not yet done as I enjoy many of the published worlds. I thoroughly enjoyed the Forgotten Realms up until the Spellplague era, (which I am now getting my head wrapped around) and am still determining whether or not I am keen on the whole Sundering thing going on. I also enjoyed both Dragonlance and Eberron and am learning the Golarion setting from Pathfinder.
The main reason I was recommending published adventures and campaign worlds for tuckertcs is that he stated that he is having difficulty with modifying and building encounters. The beauty of published material is that it is all there ready to use. He won't have tweak it and confuse himself further by trying to come up with his own material at this stage of his gaming development.
I also think he would benefit from sitting in on some games, but I'm guessing he is a younger player so I wouldn't recommend Craigslist, but I would recommend checking with his local gaming stores. Hopefully one will have at the very least a gaming night where they play 4e, where he can sit in on and either learn from the DM by watching what he does and then asking questions afterword, or playing and learning both by playing and by observing the DM. The key will be not only asking questions, but waiting to ask his questions afterword so as not to break the rhythm of the game. Also, as was suggested, watch the games you can find online...The Dungeons and Dragons youtube channel has several good game vids, as does DMScotty, Esperepsesper, and several others out there.

Correction... Ry'Gorr Keep is home to a clan of Orcs. BUT since this is MY scenery, I'm making it home to Frost Giants! Hehe, I was thinking to myself...it's been years since I was on EQ2, but I recall Ry'gorr being orc territory.... LOL.... That place was fun to run around! Can't wait to see the finished tiles.... If you plan on having 1/2' walls you'll need to add a full inch to the measuremeant each direction to account for the walls on all sides. and if you assume that the giant is 3 times the size of a human then the door needs to be at least 3 times the size. Me I'm a grandiose guy so I'd go at least 4 times the size just because lol.....Good luck!

Ha, didn't realize it was part of Greyhawk, thanks. Actually, it seems that I am mistaken....it is part of a campaign setting called Points of Light, including the lands of Nerath .
The reason I thought it was Greyhawk/Oerth was that it uses the same diety lists as Greyhawk/Oerth as opposed to the dieties of the other campaign settings that they have previously used; Forgotten Realms/Faerun, Dragonlance/Krynn, Eberron. I guess that with 4e WotC, which had yet to create a world of their own as opposed to those created when TSR owned the franchise, decided to create their own. So my bad on that one. Hopefully this will be helpful for tuckertcs. Here is a link to some more info on the campaign setting: link
Hope it helps!

If I recall correctly Nentir Vale is in the Greyhawk campaign setting, which is the on the world of Oerth. Most of the 4e Adventures I have seen are set there.... Keep on the Shadowfell, Shadowspire Labyrinth, Pyramid of Shadows, and many more....The website bloodchoke recommended is one that I recall being very good. There are also some good pdf resources scattered about the web, google can be your best friend when looking for stuff like this.

Last week I managed to find some of the Mage Knight Builder sets on ebay, and today they have arrived! I am so happy... No more mismatched doors that we have to move off the table when opened. Yay!! LOL There are a few other goodies included that I might be able to put to use, even though I really only ordered them because of the awesome doors! There are some goodies that when converted can be some potential corpse markers and maybe some extra action point tokens....stoked that I found them!

What everyone above me has suggested is spot on. Check out youtube, there are an amazing number of people out there sharing their gaming knowledge. Matt at aFistfulOfDice is fabulous. So is PhDnd and his 'Moving Fourth' series of vids. Watch their vids and glean as much as you can from them. You can find many books online including several mentioned above by sgtslag. DMBrad's advice on starting small is excellent advice, and if you decide to play in a campaign world that already exists such as "The Forgotten Realms", "Eberron" or "Greyhawk" there are many published novels that you can likely find at your local library or bookstore that you can read and get a basic understanding of the worlds history, goings-on, and geographic regions.
RPG's can be overwhelming at first especially for those who are brave enough to step up and DM games, but with patience, lots of reading, watching others play and listening to others and a bit of time you will be DMing with the best of them. Good Luck.

Whites and yellows are a serious pain... I usually start with a light grey basecoat, and then use a very watered down white applied in thin coats. It often takes a good 5 coats of white or more to get a coverage that I am happy with. Yellow is the same way, except i use a light brown underneath.

Here are the three cave entrances I made following DMScotty's 2.5 technique. I did use a foam cutter. www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10202472116947646&l=2de8764dd4I know you said you did not have a foam hot wire cutter, but I wonder if you could do something similar with a coping saw or other fine saw. After that, it is really a matter of painting and using various terrain like sand and flocking. That's basically how I cut the foam for mine... used an old knife along with the coping saw... not as clean as the hot wire cutters but it can work....and I recommend having a dryer fabric sheet close to nullify the static cling from the foam particles, makes things much neater and easier

This one I made by cutting and gluing the foam together and then coating it with a layer of white glue, brushed on. Then I base coated it a dark grey, and after it dried I then dry brushed a lighter grey over the top of it. Pretty simple and effective. If you don't need it raised like I did then you can just do the entrance part and glue it to a cardboard base and then use the steps I used above. Good luck and please post some pics when you make yours!

Aye, I remember one of our crafting gurus (DMScotty or DMG) having posted a video where they took a kitchen sponge, cut it into square shapes the size they wanted, then glued them onto some plastic or cardboard (can't recall which, but I think plastic would be better as you could then wash the spongy bits without ruining the "base" of the stamp) and used it like a rubber stamp to stamp out the "squares" quickly and efficiently.

Well, sadly the start of our 4e campaign has been delayed, one of my main players got stuck at work and I don't like to start campaigns off with players missing. Too much important info and groundwork is laid out to have anyone missing from that first session. So now it looks like it will be another 2 weeks before we can get started.... =(
I promise that if it happens before then I will post pics then!
