While going gridless is a future endeavor, has anyone done a grid by sponging on the paint squares? Just curious if this technique has been tried. I will give it a go, if someone has tried already, I would appreciate any lessons learned.

Dm Scotty sponged on a checkered floor in his recent "modern tiles" video. The DMG tiles would probably work well as a grid also.

thedmg's advanced tile tutorial shows a square texturing that he sponges on that could easily be used for grids.

Aye, I remember one of our crafting gurus (DMScotty or DMG) having posted a video where they took a kitchen sponge, cut it into square shapes the size they wanted, then glued them onto some plastic or cardboard (can't recall which, but I think plastic would be better as you could then wash the spongy bits without ruining the "base" of the stamp) and used it like a rubber stamp to stamp out the "squares" quickly and efficiently.
