Okay I am in the process of making a cave complex. dmscraft.freeforums.net/thread/733/grindylow-caves-work-progressEventually it will not just be caves but the floor of the complex is a tidal pool cavern complex. Like the treasure cave from Pirates of the Caribbean. I am going to paint the walls a ruddy brown in the hopes of striking a good coral look. I am going to paint the floor a lighter sandy color and add some sea weed and elements to make it appear like a vibrant shallow tidal reef. It is a big complex, about 3x4 feet. just glueing the foam down spent 5 hot glue sticks. So I am not sure I want to do the DMScotty hot glue water. I was thinking of running a very very thin coat of blue acrylic over the floor of the cavern to make the sandy bottom look underwater. I could also use blue water color paint which would might give a blue tint without a lot of mixing the acrylic. Another choice might be lacquering the floor once it is painted for a wet look. Lastly blue tinted ceran wrap. Over the finished bottom.

Thinking it would be better if it was brushed on rather than seran wrap. The lacquer route may be the quickest/cheapest but test it on a small piece of the foam to make sure it won't damage it if you accidentally get some on it. I've had some weird reactions with certain paint/lacquer mixtures and foam in the past.
