The Tralls like long walks in the dungeon and undercooked BBQ

The are Bile Tralls from Privateer Press. They are for Warmachine mini game / Iron Kingdoms RPG. I play a little of both.

Ah, that explains why I didn't know them. I am not very familiar with the Privateer Press stuff. Not from any dislike, rather just no one in the area played so I didn't get into their figures or games.
Nice work by the way. I am looking forward to seeing more of your work.

We play a little Hordes, set in the same world as and compatible with Warmachine (for those unaware). I have an Everblight horde. Never played the Iron Kingdom's RPG. What are your thoughts on it and how does it compare to the more popular RPGs?

We play a little Hordes, set in the same world as and compatible with Warmachine (for those unaware). I have an Everblight horde. Never played the Iron Kingdom's RPG. What are your thoughts on it and how does it compare to the more popular RPGs? Iron Kingdoms RPG - I really LIKE the fluff / world. Its an interesting blend of fantasy (with guns), a little steam punk including killer robots. The whole question of how do you let guns in without guns dominating combat is handled well as in - armor, magic and bullets are expensive. Iron Kingdom character creation has no dice. Character creations is - pick a race, pick an Archetype (magic, strong, smart, skilled) pick two careers about thirty to choose from, then use a few stat points to improve your character. Your choices determine your stats. Rules level is medium to slightly crunchy. Combat rules are 95% the same as Warmachine / Hordes. If you play Hordes you know the combat system. Gridless movement, D6 system - roll usually 2d6- add your statistic value and compare to defenders defense or armor. Plenty of modifiers, buffs and debuffs. Not a lot of healing as in close to none compared to other RPG's. Combats last 30-40 minutes after you get the hang of what is going on. Experience system is small improvements frequently. You will probably get a little better at one thing or improve one stat or gain one more skill ect after each game session. Nothing about the system is completely unique and totally amazing, but the blend of fluff and rules make it cool. I have a Goblin character who sucks at combat (his rather large gun makes a lot of noise and knocks him over, when fired) but he finds work fixing up robots - sometimes during battles. He occasionally liberates, or recycles battlefield scrap, robot pieces and is making his own Steam Jack. He sometimes has to say things like "What if you don't pay me?.... Well, sure, I can't do anything about that. My Steam Jack giant robot on the other hand needs some new parts and has a really big shotgun. So getting paid for the work I did would be nice!"

Iron Kingdoms is a very cool game! The painting of the pieces was so well! Congratulations for the work!
Warmachine is a game with very beautiful pieces! They have an excellent visual appeal!

These looks awesome, really like the dark, realistic painting style. What's the story with that cave terrain? Is it made from foam or is it a purchased piece?

Loving the gritty feel of your minis Neil. Absolutely awesome!
I massively updated the number of minis I have available by purchasing the Castle Ravenloft and Legend of Drizzt board games. The are the same as the WotC minis except they are unpainted. I paid $76 bucks and got 82 minis, as well as some tiles (gridded but they are usable), and some playable board games that can be used to introduce people to gaming. Less than $1.00 per mini! Hard to beat that! Next on the list is the Wrath of Ashardalon board game and another 42 minis, and hopefully by then the Reaper Bones that are waiting in the wings will be released for public consumption, lol....
I forsee lots of painting and tile construction in my future, hehe....

Thanks for the complement I need to check out that series of games, seems you can't beat the price for the minis - I have heard mixed reviews on the actual games. Can those games be played solo?

Yup from what I am reading they can be, though I have yet to play them though. The arrived today and my son had homework tonight so I have to wait for a night without homework to have him play along with me. Reviews I have seen say that the Drizzt one is closest to 4e play but the Ravenloft one has the best "adventures" for gameplay. IMO they are worth picking up for the minis alone, if the gameplay is good then that is a bonus;)
