I have been pondering on how to make reusable tiles for various room shapes, Rather than make all the rooms for a particular dungeon... especially sense this summer I am starting to run Worlds Largest Dungeon.... (That is a crafting feat and one that does not qualify if I win the current contest). I was thinking of making Puzzle shaped pieces so West facing SO I could snap a room together with several 4x4 to make an 8x4... or even if I chose 32x32... has anyone tried to do this yet? Is there any tips anyone can give...

You'll need to make 4 corner pieces, and then enough edge pieces to fit the perimeter you want. It's not just about how many squares you fit together, but also what kinds. Also, make a permanent template for the pieces, and be careful with painting them, or you'll end up with semi-deformed tiles that don't fit together properly. Now, apart from advice on what could go wrong, I want to add this: Go for it, and post pics when you're done. It sounds pretty good, and I'd like to see how well it works

Planning.... as I watch Youtube videos... I am thinking of making all parameter pieces only 1/2 inch... so I can make a 5 foot corridor by fitting left and right...
this also seems like a lot of extra pieces because of the need for multiple lengths... after all one room might be 5 x6 and the next be 12x9... I am sure that the use of two 6's will work... maybe I need to design each room then learn what I can reuse from a previous room and not have to recreate... then again... gahhhh all this planning...
