Here is a file PDF that I created long ago to help GMs follow and track PC alignments. www.dropbox.com/s/ey5nsqnz764u4zu/AlignmentGrid.pdf1) Each sheet tracks a single character. 2) All characters will start out as the epitome of their aligment, the darker shaded squares. 3) If the player pursues an action that goes against his alignment, make a note on the alignment grid chart. Very simple to track. It really doesnt need any more explanation.

Nice. I use a similar system, only numerical. I use a two axis layout, vertical for morality, horizontal for lawfulness, with the center of each being zero. The range is -10 to 10 (unlawful would be anywhere from -1 to -10 horizontal, moral 1 to 10 vertical, and so on). After I made it, I saw DM Scotty's much simpler and nicer looking living alignment chart, but I decided to keep mine thinking that the numbers could be useful. For instance, maybe there is a magic sword that can only be weld by a very moral, or very evil, character. This could possibly be resolved with a check (morality and lawfulness are rather fluid, after all) or by simply looking at the base score. I haven't actually used it yet for that, but I have made PC adjust their numbers by a few points based on in game actions. I don't know, this may be overly complicated and convoluted (MORE NUMBERS!), but I thought I would throw it out there in case others are interested in giving it a run. Attachments:
