So i stumbled upon your videos on youtube about three weeks ago DM Scotty, and found alot of insight into the tiles and everything else you built. I even went as far as to craft a few small things for my game. You see me and my gaming group meet once every other saturday to game, myself being the dungeonmaster.
Well after watching most if not all of your videos i decided to bring the idea up to my group about trying out the gridless. Im not the type of dm to just shove it on them never have been. Despite my thoughts of them not enjoying the idea they all gravitated to it.
We too play 4e and the general consensus was that with the focus on powers and miniatures the game has become a rollplaying game more than a roleplaying game. So with what turned out to be a very short discussion we decided to give it a go.
there gonna finish clearing out the goblin tribe infested dwarven ruins next adventure (the last grided dungeon i had created) and then we are going fulling gridless. I have the perfect adventure planned in the upcoming week as there is a local house in the village that the family is murdered.
Them coming in close with the lieutenant of the sherriffs office (one of the few who are trying to stop the town from corruption) will be asked to investigate this as she will believe it has ties to the necromancer they caught in the graveyard not too long ago.
I plan on creating the house, not for an encounter, but to show them the carnage and such within the building using some of your techniques. They will have to find the clues to find the hidden passage dug up beneath the poor farmers basement which lead into a set of catacombs with a rather nasty surprise. I hope to be posting the pictures of the tiles before the adventure.
Neither here nor there however i wanted to inform you of the inspiration you provide and thank you for all of your impressive ideas. Keep up the great work, and its always a pleasure to know theres still those out there who enjoy the craft.
