I was going to just make a cave tile, then use markers for the webs but I wanted to see what I could do with my glue gun. I will eventually make a big egg sac to place where the drider is. I have a few spider swarms that can burst out of it. I filmed the cave entrance to fast, but the webs are more stringy, cause to pc's have to cut through them to enter. Next I will make a spider web entrance using dmscotty techniques. You are the man!!!!

This is my "sandbox"slum section just outside the city walls. I can't find the mage knight walls for the right price yet so... just imagine!

First is the gatehouse, guards will be posted outside in daytime.Pc's can't enter second part of the city until they interact with the priest in the chapel, shown second.(Hook: the priest is a dear friend of one of the pc's who sent an urgent letter for help). 3rd: is a run down bar you can see some patrons in there and several encounters can come out of this. 4th: Allyway, pc's can stir up some rat swarms and it makes combat very difficult in small area. 5th: these r broken down houses there is a squatter in there, or people can own them. 6th: another ally can stir up another rat swarm or dire rat combat behind blacksmith shop 7th: pig farmer plight can take place here or can travel behind stable to a farm setup several miles from town.If thats the case maybe pc's can use or rent horses from stable owner.

This is another scenerio where bandits attack, combat is again in small quarters. Pc's and enemies can duck into building for cover. There is a scorcerer on a black dragon, He could be a reoccuring villian. There is so much that can be done in this "sandboxed" area.

This is a band of goblins doing what goblins and hobgoblins do.... Heroes coming out of bar could have penalties if they have been drinking.

This is the last vid of my slums section. The Pc's are running out of the bar through the kitchen(for whatever reason I make up) only to come face to face with a mad troll. The point of these videos is to show "sandboxing" is an effective way run encounters! Some DM's disagree and that is ok, but there is still so much potential in this simple set-up. The PC's are still free to explore and some jobs or adventures can happen away from this! One example is the priest sends the PC's to a nearby cemetary to find out whose digging up the graves. Its a 2 hr trek from the slums. while I'm setting up the cemetary scene they can discuss the priests offer to buy some property in an effort to rebuild the slums. My point is I like "sandboxing" but the PC's still have the option to do the quests or not. If they don't want to help the priest there is always a nearby cave or dungeon to explore, they will however need supplies from somewhere and the only way to get good merchandise is to enter the city, the only easy way in is to help the priest!
