This is part of the wonderful Shackled City epic module where the players encounter a Harpoon spider deep in its web infested lair. I made the Harpoon spider with toothpicks, cardboard and air soft and BBs for the eyes. Spider is a bit too big (had to remake the tiles larger to accommodate the spider) but hopefully it will be a memorable fight (assuming they live...they rushed down here without resting) Attachments:

Here are the room dressings for a mage bedroom that was destroyed by magic gone awry..the table is supposed to look half collapsed, spilled potion and book case busted and void of all useful books.... Attachments:

Terrifying spider, it looks great...Always take into account the size of your monsters when crafting tiles. I love the Mage bedroom furnishings!

spider is made out of toothpicks, cardboard body and a foam abdomen. Lots of hot glue on the top of the body to shape the cephalothorax so the pointy bits could protrude from her top.
I basically made 8 legs in the same shape, 4 were oriented to the right and 4 oriented to the left so when they were glued on a piece of cardboard they were oriented correctly. lots of hot glue holding the legs to the body.
Scotty, good idea on trimming the poster board..will do before the big game on Tuesday.

The spider is very impressive, however I must admit, the furniture is my favorite.

The spider is terrifying, and the furniture is amazing.

I remember that spider! My players hated it. Yours looks way cooler than mine did though. Nice job!

The spider and the room look really cool. I love seeing the 3D spider facing off with that fighter. Seeing the two figs together gives you a totally different sense of scale than hearing somebody say "it's a ten foot spider," or even to hear them say "it's a spider the size of a VW Bug." Very cool execution on that monster. Loved the splinters on the broken table's edge.

Very nice spider! I agree, the size of the spider is very intimidating.

Thats a damn good spider, and the type that run around a lot (or jump) tend to have similar sized legs.. plus I imagine a giant spider would need legs off roughly the same size as well, just for practical reasons. I might have to add a spider or two to my ever growing list of critters I want to make.. Great paint job on it as well, really brings it to life and just screams 'Man eater'.
