So last night I asked my riend, who owns a game store (and therefore happens to get boxes shipped in pretty frequently) if he had any boxes he could give to me. He had a box that was doubl corrugated, and, because all my projects have a single corrugated cardboard ply, I thought, "What the hell can I do with this." So then I thought about it, and decided to make a large ship.
so i drew up some simple plans last night, and after work today I started putting my plan together on cardboard, using the double corrugated box I received. It isn't going to be as "2.5D" as most DM Crafting tiles, but so far it is looking really awesome. The sucker is going to be variable length between 20 and 30 inches in length (It's being crafted modularly so I can make it a a one, two, or three mast ship if needed, and make it smaller or longer, again as needed) by 10 inches in width, with a noticably raised aftcastle. The aftcastle will be removable to show the captain's quarters, and I am planning on building a second, and possibly even a third lower levels, of that I can stack it up (making it look like an actual ship), and break it apart to be all DM Crafty with easy access quarters.
The aftcastle is being a bit of a pain, but not so much that it won't look friggin awesome when it's done.
So, I figured I'd share (Sorry, still having issues with pictures, so no pics any time soon...). Anyone else have really large and awesome projects they are developing for the DM Craft?
