Check out the photo's of the Dwarven Forge ( DF) Stalagmites, 3rd photo down in this post on TMP: link. They look remarkably similar to those we have made using DM Scotty's techniques with our trusty Hot Glue Guns! I find that very impressive. Honestly, my kids got me the basic DF dungeon set for Christmas, around 10 years ago. I realized very quickly, how little I could do with just one set -- I figured I would need around 8-10 sets, to do a decent dungeon set-up! That would break our family bank, and then some... A 2nd mortgage, for gaming toys, just is not feasible. With what I've learned since then (3-D tends to get in the way with mini's, so it really is not as wonderful as it seems at first, for RPG sessions), I've gone the 2-D print tile route, as I did not learn of DM Scotty and his wonderful techniques, until after I had invested time, money, and effort into other concepts. Now, even if I had enough money to buy out DF, I would still go the 2-D route, with certain 3-D additions used, as needed, and appropriate. I also play skirmish, and large battle, mini's games. For these, I prefer full 3-D terrain. Utilizing DM Scotty's techniques, I've been able to make far more terrain than I ever hoped to make. What a wonderful Golden Age of gaming we live in! This is stuff I could only dream of, back in High School, when I first got into gaming. Too much fun! Cheers!

Very true! I personally enjoy having some 3d elements in my games, but there's no way we could comfortably play with a full 3d, even though they are often stunning and great as diorama pieces. I looked at the DF stuff as well as the Hirst Arts stuff and while some of it is quite impressive the cost is a huge turn off, especially these days in this economy. I have found DMScotty's, DMG's and the methods use by other crafters here to work beautifully and very inspirational to my own crafting.... Thank you all Edit: What I will say about those pics is that the Otherworld minis they have are absolutely stunning....Those spiders and myconids are so awesome....gonna add those to my wanted list!
