So I'm working on a variant take on Goblins and I've got a little crafter's block and wondered if any of my fellow crafters might have an idea.
The Problem; In the world concept, Goblins are centered around Warrens, each containing a single Warren Mother. The lore describes these creatures as immense, obese Goblin females. The male goblins compete for her favor (i'm assuming mating rights?) by raiding other races. Its stat line states it is a large creature.
Unfortunately I'm unable to find a miniature which captures this feeling and although I'm decent at conversions and rough miniatures (like blobs, etc) I'm not proficient enough to sculpt such a creature. Any suggestions?

Maybe you could try cutting the arms, legs, head off of a goblin mini and then make a blob like body out of clay. Then glue the goblin parts to it.

You could also look into the Games Workshop "Hobbit" minis...maybe the Goblin King could be converted/painted to look female and might work... although sadly Games Workshop is pricey...

Yeah that's the direction I'm currently thinking. Was hoping to avoid the expense but only a few modifications would make it acceptable as a Warren Mother. Its a little larger in scale too, but since a Warren Mother would probably be a 'boss' level encounter I guess it fits I think I have some Ogre bits about that I can use to customize it a bit too.. some scavenged Goblin loot and what not as 'offerings'

Red Box Games has a nice range of goblins, and has a female goblin that would work.
