So, after I posted the thread on repurposing cheap bat rings as stirges, it dawned on me that I didn't have to settle for only 2 wings instead of a stirge's 4 wings. So I present to you my photo instruction on how to make a full, four-winged stirge. Step-by-step photo instruction on how to make a stirge cheaply1) get those cheap bats rings from the Halloween store 2) use wire or toenail clippers (which are better because of their curved shears) to snip the wings from the body 3) clip of the ring pieces 4) hot glue the wings to the body 5) put a small dab of hot glue on underside of head and gently stretch the glue down to make the proboscis 6) snip the proboscis to the desire length and... voila! a stirge for the painting!!!
