I have never seen any hobgoblin models I have really liked so I painted up a set of Kings of War Orc Greatax Troop as HobbyG's and I am really happy with the result. [img src=" i.imgur.com/XwY8R88.jpg" src=" " alt=" "]

I agree with the hobgoblin sentiment. These look much better than the out-of-the-box options I've seen.

Those are sweet DMScotty! Awesome work you did there with those. I miss those old 2nd ed hobgoblins that had that "far eastern" look and feek to them, like a cross between mongols or samurai/ashigaru or Klingons even, lol. Like this: Even this later style isn't bad but its hard to find ones like any of these:

Those look great! How hard was it to rebase them? Seems like it would be rather difficult to cut them off the circular piece that fits into the square bases.

I didn't cut the circular bottom off. I hid it with some flocking.

Cool stuff - I really love the chunky rubble bases. I need to start numbering the bases of my figs makes keeping track of things easy.

Ohh Hells yeah matakishi! Otherworld has been doing some seriously awesome old school sculpts. Have you seen their kobolds and their glabrezu?

Not my thing sadly, Don't play D&D any more and don't bother with the creatures. I do buy more generic stuff so I have an Otherworld Purple Worm. And a PHB Demon Idol, everyone should have a PHB Demon Idol.

I don't want to hijack the thread since I have no other information to offer about Hobgoblins but my Conan project is here: www.matakishi.com/conanhub.htmThere's photos of all the miniatures I used on the project page, pictures of the game tables on the scenarios page and instructions for making some of the scenery on the Building Hyboria page. There's a project log on Lead Adventure Forum to which has some discussions about my rules if that might interest you: www.lead-adventure.de/index.php?topic=29319.0

Thanks!
I hadn't thought of using cork tile as a crafting medium... I'm gonna have to look into it for some pieces... Seriously awesome work on all fronts!
edit: fixed typo...meant cork, not cord
