The players stepped through a Fey portal (manifested as a fungus archway with butterfly wings fluttering in a shimmering curtain) and found this scene before them. The mushroom houses were candy containers, the rest is just (badly) painted cardboard, and some bits of lab tube from work, plus rocks and miniatures.

Bit of back story... Tryn the Halfling ranger, Alain the Human cleric of Evolo (god of trade and commerce), Grat Smashface the half Orc fighter, Faruul the Kobold monk (raised by Githzerai) and Tipsy the Gnome wizard have found themselves involved in a plot involving a mysterious chest, itself an unstable dimensional nexus, reading an inscription on the lid when it is open reveals a stairway which leads to a corridor, this is a one way entrance, the one way exit is a doorway at the end of the corridor that leads into the cellar under a tavern they now own.. if the chest is moved a distance away from the tavern, the corridor gets longer, and more doorways appear inside it, each a one way portal leading from other dimensions, into the corridor.. already the wizard has sealed off a doorway leading from the fey realm, after a battle with space warping fey goblins called Boggles. During the battle, one of the Boggles escaped into the city, and went on a crime spree, while the players dealt with the local clergy in the matter of some dead NPC's, they also encountered a drunkard, outcast wizard with an evil imp familiar, who warned them that the chest was seriously bad news.. they also discovered that the Boggles seemed to be leaving Fey fungal spores everywhere they touched, which sprouted vigorously when not exposed to sunlight.. as soon as the sun set, the city went into further disastrous chaos as an otherworldly forest of giant toadstools started to burst through buildings around the tavern and began to rupture the city wall.. the characters found that throwing salt onto the fungus burned it away like acid, but a single sack of salt was no match for the scale of what was going on around them.. however, they could track the rogue Boggle by the trail of stolen items and ransacked shops they investigated, and soon came across a two way dimensional gateway they may have been created by the Boggle, or just sprang out of the rampaging fey forest around them.. pausing to loot a rare trinket shop as the city was threatened with destruction around them (damn players, I should have known..) they decided that perhaps the best course of action was to step through the portal into the fey realm and see where the Boggle had gone.. On the other side, they discovered themselves in a fey village, houses made of giant mushrooms, weird crystals growing from the mossy ground, and a great red crystal which they just seemed to have stepped out of.. they spotted the Boggle on a walkway over the roof of two houses, surrounded by ebony skinned, gem coloured eyed Eladrin, who, weapons drawn and ready to defend themselves, turned to regard the new invaders of their realm... To be continued next Tuesday evening.. As lame an effort as I consider this half hour, knocked together terrain, the players all whipped out Ipads and smart phones to take pictures of it as soon as I placed it down on the table. It was gratifying
