I have a new editor and am working on a new vid format. Do you guys and gals like my title card separators between the stages of my craft or would you prefer them to go? My initial reason was that it would give an idea what I was doing next and help people who scroll through the vid and want to find a particular section of the vid. What do you all think...

I watch every video from start to finish, so they are kind of annoying to me. But I understand why you do it and why some people would like it.

I use them as a quick reference when looking for a technique or get distracted and have to back up and watch again. Keep em' I say.

I'm with dmbrad. It's an extra 30 seconds of video that I don't need, but I understand their purpose. Keep 'em.

You could solve the problem by not interrupting the video and have the title card as a title overlay over the bottom of the video. This would: 1.) Reduce the length of the video if you have a lot of titles (if each title is 10 seconds long and you have 6 that's a minute) 2.) Won't break the action for us crafty types champing at the bit to see more 3.) When skipping through the video they can look for the overlays if they want
What you can do is look through your analytics data on YouTube at the Absolute Audience Retention graph and see if there is a dip or jump around the times of any title cards. This would be a more objective view of whether they are doing anything for your videos. Only look at the ones with 1000 views or more though for it to be of any statistical significance.
Hope that helps.

I enjoy the title cards. If I'm listening to the video while I'm looking at something else or my attention is elsewhere, the pause in audio during the transition lets me know the topic is changing.

You can have ALL the Input you want if it helps with the Output! (also what ever is easiest for you - you're the one who has to cut away at it)
I should be working right now... but I'd rather be crafting!

I like them, they are like a nice array of smaller paragraphs, compared to a wall of text.

Keep the cards as it tells viewers what's coming up. You could also do what WatchItPlayed does and create a time index in the description if you're concerned about viewers wanting to get to a particular part quickly.

My thought is 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it.'
Your current standard was good enough to start a movement. Why alter that? At most, I would tighten the time between segments, but the basic format need not be altered.

I love them. I can't tell you how many times I have gone back to a video to review something and I scroll to the header card. They are like chapter openers in a book. I would be sorry to see them go and would strongly advise you leave them in. Now having said that, do they have to be exactly the same? No if you want to switch them up or change them to match your desires, go for it, just keep the idea.
