A chamber opens at the end of a long corridor. The first player through the archway triggers a portcullis that drops across the archway, trapping that character within the room. several small holes are revealed around the circumference of the chamber and a small trap-door opens in the wall across the chamber. a heavy white smoke (poison gas? , I think not) begins pouring from the holes within the room and will fill the room to about 3 feet from the floor (but the pc's wont know this initially). By this time the rest of the party should be attempting to lift the portcullis but to no avail. This is when the player in the room will notice the lever within the small trap-door in the wall. As soon as the lever is pulled, super-cooled liquid sprays at ankle-level on anyone standing outside of the room freezing the unfortunate characters in place outside the room. this is when the player in the room notes that the smoke within the room a providing a warming sensation. Then the players outside the room hears a "thunking" noise and turn just in time to see a giant block of solid ice being slung down the corridor smashing them between the ice block and the portcullis
