I discovered DM Scotty's videos a little over a week ago. I've since watched through them all and he inspired me to actually make a campaign. I wanted to show everyone some pictures of the completed dungeon, minus a minor embellishment here and there. The text can be a little wordy in the descriptions but it just explains little odds and ins of the dungeon. I do want to thank DM Scotty for the nudge to put together a campaign. Happy to hear any thoughts anyone may have. imgur.com/a/Touxp#0

Very nice work there noirdeus, I especially like the way you've thought about food to feed the monsters.

I love the elevator! I am making a similar mine, and for the life of me couldn't think of how the elevator should look. The door also looks great, and the key prop idea is a brilliant touch imo! Overall the entire creation was a treat, thanks for sharing!

The more I look at the photos in this forum, the more I get the sense that a well-crafted tile is -- if you will forgive the libidinous character of my comment -- more like lingerie caressing a woman's curves than it is the sight of fully exposed nakedidity. And what I mean is that a well-crafted tile invites and prompts and downright encourages your imagination to get busy. It doesn't try to go BLAM in your face and show you everything it's got all at once -- it sort of wags its finger at you and invites you to come closer.
The photo from noirdeus' set that affected my imagination like that was the stalagmite sinking into the water. That was one heck of a cool effect, and I really could feel my mind probing down along that thing, wondering how deep it actually went and whether or not there would be anything cool at the bottom.
So my point is something that I think DM Scotty has made over and over again when he talks about "immersion" -- it's simply that the tiles are there to whet your imagination via a human's most powerful sensory apparatus: our vision. I see a little bit of something, and if it's done well -- crafted well -- the object pulls a starter cord in my mind and the chainsaw of my imagination starts ripping through all the things that MIGHT be there. And once you engage THAT in a player -- man, they are only too happy to do most of your descriptive work for you.
Fantastic job on the illusion of depth with that stalagmite.

Also, the door and the key were totally cool. I play with my kids (14 and 11), and they would flip out to be handed that key and then later find that door. Again, it's all about igniting the concept of possibility in the players' minds -- it's about seeding wonder in them. No prop is even a tenth as cool as the images and feelings I will create about it in my own mind, but it absolutely key to give my mind something to begin riffing on in the first place, especially in the consensual illusion that is a role playing game -- we all need to be on more or less the same page if the game is going to work. In a way, it's kind of like playing music for somebody: objectively, the music is just sonic vibrations in the air, but it's when they get heard by a person that the feelings and beauty of art are made. This is getting kooky so I'll stop. All I'm trying to say is that these tiles have a very powerful effect on imagination and I'm very glad I found DM Scotty's channel and forum.
Nice job with the door and the key!
