Hey guys, this is my first time giving building terrain a shot. I am a newer DM and love it so much. I started with a tiled poster for the floor graphic, added a grid *shreek*, and just cut it out. I love the feel it gives a dungeon room and it makes for a great final battle of the night. With the help of Scotty and the combined efforts of about 3 or 4 of his videos, I came up with the final product of my Gates of Hell encounter. I love the way it turned out, the red glow behind the gate and the tealights on top really make it stand out, coupled with a few terrifying trebuchets (bwahahahaha). Anyway, I would love to hear what you guys think. Thanks to everyone and of course DM Scotty.

Very nice! I can almost imagine the little imp devils on top jeering at the heroes down below!

What did you use for the spikes on top? They look too large for toothpicks.

Outstanding! Looks decidedly hellish. What did you use to get the red glow behind the gate?

Thanks everyone! I'm glad you all enjoyed it. slurpy: No, the spikes are not toothpicks because of the size of this model, I used vegetable/meat skewers for the spikes on top and the iron bars of the portcullis gate. justsix: The glow is made with red tool ($2.00 with a bunch left over) bunched up within the box and a set of 20 mini battery powered lights ($1.50) stuffed inside of it. I cut a flap in the back to be able to turn the lights on and off.

The actual gate looks phenomenal! How did you make the cross sections?

The gate was just made with meat skewers pushed through thin vertical cardboard strips. The rest is painted.

The portal was great! The torches were very cool! The effect of red light on the portal was fantastic!
