As posting pictures is very long and takes up a crapload of space, I've decided to use Imgur for my picture hosting. A link is provided at the end of this post, but right now I want to say something. In the span of a 24-hour period, I've cut out a heck of a lot of cardboard. That is all. First Album: Standard Adventuring Tilesimgur.com/a/0bN25#0(First picture for some reason isn't showing up on the gallery for the album, so get a good look at it while you can because you can't click back to it unless you click the link again.)Second Album: Keep on the Shadowfell: Gridless Editionimgur.com/a/0uy80#0I figured I'd embark non a greuling and cheap journey: I'm going to hopefully convert the H1 Adventure Module for D&D, Keep on the Shadowfell, into a gridless adventure. Wish me luck on this endeavor of trying to spend as little as possible (including buying the actual module because the free version is more updated (albeit worse than the original)). I'm using a remix found over at The Alexandrian that I've found best suits my needs as a DM. This should be fun!Critique and Comments?

I like your transition piece idea. Your other tiles are looking good too. Interested to see how you paint them.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Sadly, I won't be able to do any spray painting today, since it's terribly cold, rainy, and generally unpleasant. Dang.

Just do it inside. Nothing says Easter like the family getting high off of fumes.

As a new endeavor, I've posted a second album that'll chronicle my adventures in making the 4E H1 adventure/module, Keep on the Shadowfell, into a gridless adventure! Should be treacherous. I have a towel.

Cool, I am running keep on the shadowfell for my second group. The dig site vid I made is the place where the PCs go to rescue their mentor but I changed it up a bit and added details as I always do if I am running a mod.

So I've gotten the pieces painted, and I'm not sure how good they look. They're good fr a first set, and I'm really not sure what happened with the white in some of those. Critique?

Your painted tiles look 100% table-ready to me. However, if you're not happy with your white highlighting, then I would suggest you simply practice getting the paint load on your brush at the level you prefer (too much makes it too blotchy and too little leaves it blurry or faded), and work on getting your brush stroke to be smoother and more relaxed so that you have a more consistent look to your highlighting both throughout a single tile and across multiple tiles in a set. Basically, you're not doing anything "wrong", you just need to practice your technique. My first few tiles were splotchy and inconsistent in the highlighting, but the more tiles I did, the better it became. One day, I'll be as consistent as DM Scotty! :-)

Yeah, I think you're right. I think I just need to find the right technique for me to use. In the morning I'm going to start cutting things out for the Kobold Ambush (I'm not saying it's the first as the second encounter with the kobold buggers deals with a barricade setup to trap the PCs.) Woo!

(Daaaang it I hate double-posting)
Well, I have the Keep on the Shadowfell (mostly) done and unpainted, all I need are the rocks. I posted the picture to the second album on Imgur. Does anyone have ideas on what to do for that? I figured I'd just use something like Model Magic or any other type of modeling clay and paint them gray. Thoughts, critique, and comments?
Addendum: About the mountains/cliffs/whatever they're supposed to be on the north/south edge of the map, what I did was take the glue gun, kind of like I did with the trees, and "paint" a sort of texture on them. Also, since the bases get bigger each level down, I decided that I'd take the glue gun and glue the edges around the next level up to the piece below. That was only done because the glue gun I have is sort of broken and doesn't get to very high temperatures (or even a sort of stinging heat for that matter) so it dries in about 3-4 seconds, which takes too long since you have to push the glue gun with a finger instead of the trigger mechanism. Which hurts your fingers more than the "hot" glue.
