I came across this picture of a flooded Asian temple on Reddit and was totally captivated by it. I decided to write a whole short adventure around this locale...lost city that was destroyed when an earthquake caused the local river to change its course and flood the city. The city succumbed to malaria, dysentery, and the influx of swamp monsters. My players learn that the last piece of paladin armor they are seeking, the helm, is in the hands of Mwami, King of the Gorillas who has taken up residence in the abandoned temple. Attachments:

They will have to move through the swamp, difficult terrain that is dotted with small mounds of trees and vegetation where monsters may hide. As they move through the swamp they will fight large constrictor snakes, and her babies (wizard is dealing with that) and Vine Horrors that manipulate the vegetation to attack the players. I converted a Heroclix Swamp Thing ($0.85) figure to be the Vine Horror (island on the left). Attachments:

Once they reach the outer temple they will have to engage in a small army of Gorilla's with spiked gauntlets. I bought these 4 jade beads at craft store for $3 and thought they would make nice stelae (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_stelae). Attachments:

Another view. I used a pizza cutter (idea from forum, thanks you all) was used to cut the stone groves on the floor. Do it before you paint and start with a light base color, then when you dry brush the darker tones it leaves the groves visible. Attachments:

Close up of the stelae. They will be in each room and become important in opening the final secret tomb. I just gave them a wash with a black paint to accentuate the carvings on the beads. In each room they will be placed in ways to indicate they can be moved or knocked over. Attachments:

Next room is a variant of DMScotty's brilliant deadly fire trap. Here it is being operated by some monkeys just out of range. I tried to give hints with the charred outlines on the floor..tried to make it not too obvious. my fire pit looks like a giant pizza Attachments:

Once they get past the fire trap the final room holds King Mwani and his guards. Great and epic battle I hope. The Gorilla king is a Heroclix $1 (ebay) character called Gorilla Grodd. Beautiful figure. Attachments:

On some spot checks the players will notice that the floor has some scratches on it and the center floor tile seams are a bit wider than the rest. Hopefully they will eventually think to push all the stelae to the center tile to create enough weight to open the secret door to the priest tomb wherein lies a mummy! Second Boss fight...hopefully they will rest before opening the tomb...doubt it with my players...they play like they are on an episode of 24....go go go Attachments:

This has nothing to do with the Gorilla King adventure but I took my son last week to see Jack the Giant Killer (quite enjoyable movie) and they used cool ballistas so i decided to make one. I think it will come to play when the city is attacked by an angry ancient dragon. Attachments:

I love everything about your adventure and will likely be using your ideas in a future adventure of my own. I do have one question about your tiles though, I notice your stone texture is multiple colours with a spotted of blotched pattern. How did you achieve this? Did you use a sponge to layer on the colours?

Thank you all for the words of encouragement.
In terms of painting the tiles Sprialbound, I painted the cardboard primer gray and then textured paint Rustoleum Desert Bisque. I then dry brushed it with a dark brown and wash with black along the edges. I was trying to make the tiles look completely different than the classic dungeon tiles DMScotty has taught us to make.
Oh yeah, I did sponge the tiles with a gray and brown.
