Your first try? Makes me want to cry, mine still don't look this good.
Well done. I love the rooms. I am sure the players will as well.

Did you make the gelatinous cube hollow and open underneath so it can "eat" characters (or change what it has eaten previously)? Mmm, carpet with old style Tomb of horror map, I think that could sell...

How did you make the gelatinous cube? It is very cool I used wax paper, drew each side out so I had an area to fill with hot glue. Once the glue was cool I cut the paper around each one then glued one side to the top, then the other sides to the top and the existing sides. I left the paper on it so it's semi-clear. I might make one using glass instead of wax paper so I can peel off the glue and so it's clear.

I can drop it, or bounce it off one of the players head and it won't break. I had my first session last night with the tiles and they went over great. 2 of my players are my kids so they saw them before, but the others liked the gridless. I actually got to eat 2 players with the Cube. Funniest part was, it had one hp left and they stopped fighting it to try and get the first one out, it then pulled the 2nd player in. Then died from a 1 point MM. lol

I love the Gelatinous cube. One of my favorite monsters. So I have to tell this story it's one of my favorites involving my favorite monster. I had a dungeon (mind you this is before I came across DM's Craft, so it was all in our heads at the time) Anyhoo, I described a long corridor it was dim, and the group had a torch. One of my party was a Lawful good Monk(3.5) totally apposed to undead. So Down the long corridor the monk leading the party could make out a figure in a room at the end of the corridor. The room was a simple 15ft x 15ft square room with a standard 5ft door.. As they got a little closer it appeared to be a skeleton. It was moving a little (slightly swaying back and forth) with out hesitation the player declared "I'm charging it!" He was about 40 or so feet away. (and had failed to spot anything else suspicious.) I said "Are you sure?" And he replied "Yes!" So he charged it, and to my pleasure charged right into a gelatinous cube that had grown to fill the room. The "skeleton" was a hapless adventurer that came before them and stumbled into the creature. The monk spent the entire combat stuck inside it because he kept failing the escape rolls! The group did manage to finally kill the thing (only one could do melee against it while the monk tried like hell to get out). The monk was completely covered in goo. Oh and he came very close to dying from the acid. One of the funniest moments in my DM'ing career.
