Here is a option I had never thought about in my vids. A YouTube viewer suggested I show the item I am going to craft first and then the viewer can decide if it is something that they want to craft and watch the rest of the vid. What do people think?

A good idea.

I'm not so sure, on the face of it yes, it does sound like a good idea, if you're not interested in the tile then there's no need to watch the video, but there might be a technique or an idea that the viewer might be able to use but skip because they have no interest in that particular tile.

there might be a technique or an idea that the viewer might be able to use but skip because they have no interest in that particular tile. That's how I feel also. I like the idea but I often give other advice and techniques in the vids. I guess I could just depend on viewer discretion.

Perhaps show them at the beginning but mention that it's worth watching as there may be tips / techniques that could be used?

I think you do a pretty good job of explaining what your going to do before each video, including what technique your going to use. There is a ton of content in each vid. Besides who doesn't want to watch DM Scotty in action, personally I am waiting for" DM's Craft themovie".

Rolling the idea around in my mind, I have already changed my mind three times, so... I would say try it once, see how it feels, and what the feedback is from your viewers. It isn't like it is going to disrupt continuity, and if it is something that is particularly sweet, the reveal will be in the technique rather than the finished product.

I think you should leave it as it is. If the title gets me to open the video and your intro gets me to watch showing me the final outcome is not going to change my mind. I like the verbal intro and hen the visual build up to the final item/tile etc.
Of course that is just my opinion. :-)

I like the way you do the vids now. Why change something that works

I don't feel that it is really necessary to do this, because, as others have said, there are techniques that are useful in most of the video. And the verbal intro is good enough...if they aren't caught by the title or the verbal intro, then...well, that's the grabber right there. My opinion.
