What have you guys found are the most common pieces you use?
What are the most common accessories you use?
I ask because I am finally beginning to craft and am wanting to invest my early time into really common pieces. Need help figuring out where to begin really.

I to have just started crafting and made the decision that after some modular rooms and passages I would start on accessories. First and probably the most common are the doors. I've made 4 double and 2 single so far enough for most rooms/areas. Next I made some rubble patches to put on the modular floors to indicate difficult terrain. I am now going to do tables, beds, bookcases, braziers, chests boxes and crates. After those I will move on to more fleshing out stuff like chairs

My advice would be to start off making simple dungeon tiles. Just make several different sized rooms and hallways. Make sure and measure the gaps for the doors so that they are a standard size so that one door will fit in any opening. If you want to make larger doors measure those too. This will cut down on the number of doors you need to make. As far as accessories, I would start with things like torches, braziers, tables, stairs, crates/barrels, fur rugs, a campfire, tents, 2d trees, large rocks.
Just start making stuff from DM Scotty's videos and before you know it you will have tons of things to fill your tiles.

For chairs check out rubbish in rubbish out cool Australian war gamer on YouTube he has a video on 28mm chairs made out of metal mesh or just start off with backless benches or snip off the point of some push pins/thumb tacks for simple stools other than that start slowly a massing paints of all colors definitely various greens & light & dark browns & go for the big bottle of black you'll need it and reliable tools big & small glue gun, Elmer's glue, some kind of goop or super glue, razor knife, sissors/shears, metal snips, bunch of brushes, even common household sponges & start collecting odds & ends & recyclables for your bits box ideas will come to you. In my experience besides cardboard, & card stock I personally go through toilet paper/napkins/paper towels a lot, popsicle sticks/craft wood sticks too, & Q-tips, & Cotton balls can be your best friend for torches & open fire respectively & DMBrad is right just watch DMScotty work his magic and copy what you like & let it inspire you. Finally this forum is the right place to look for new ideas, & techniques, & to share with other crafters. Good luck crafting! ;p
