I built the Snow & Ice Bridge, last night, from two toilet paper tubes (uprights), and a paper towel tube (cross beam), just like I did the construction of the Stone Bridge, previously (added another paint stir stick, cut to size, as a level surface to safely stand mini's upon the top span).
I experimented with the larger Hot Glue Gun, and the temperature settings (Low temperature setting, as the High setting resulted in the Glue being too runny, and liquid -- it flowed too much, as well as settling too flat for texturing). I discovered I could make Pillow Lava-like ball shapes, which I believe better suggest snow, than the usual techniques I've employed for making a rocky, stalagmite appearance.
I managed to finish the construction part, and I was able to slather on a decent coating of White Gesso, as a primer. I need to touch up the Gesso, as I always miss spots, but then I will paint it with Cool White colored craft paint, and apply a Magic Wash + Blue Paint, to give it that bluish snow/ice appearance. I'll probably add in some Pearlescent Medium, for good measure, to see if I can get some sparkle in it, as well. I should be able to finish it within the next few days, and then I will post a blog page discussing its construction, so others can consider making such a bridge for their gaming fun. It is pretty straight-forward, and easy, but pictures are always worth many thousands of words. Cheers!
