I normally try to avoid wordslike 'awesome', but this technique simply is awesome. A simple idea, easy to craft and resulting in a very realistic effect! Well done and welcome to the forum!

Excellent variant for flooring. I also experimented with cutting thin cardboard flag stones and glueing them on top. This method is quicker and easier. Great stuff.

Thank you guys for the feed back, just a tip it goes easier if you use the gaps in the corrigation for the long cuts.

Did you have any problem with tile warping as this seems like it could weaken the cardboard?

So far it didnt seem to warp anything, I would assume that you would have to use a double ply cardboard like I did. Also it seems that your base paint and texture coat technique seems to restregthen it after it fully drys and it becomes pretty beefy. I havent tried this on thinner cardboard yet, I will definately keep everyone posted on the outcome of a thinner cardboard.

I'll be taking a blade to my tiles in the near future. Nice work!

Cool idea! I've never been able to paint a wooden floor I'm happy with. Made a small cottage last weekend that took a couple hours because I used popsicle sticks for the floor. This will save me a lot of time in the future, thanks for sharing!
Also, I've done kinda similar rock floors on foamboard, if you're interested. They're in a thread called 'cheap foamboard tiles.' I think your idea is great though.
