Though, as I'm not the best with paint, I would love a little extra tips for mixing and/or application of paint to get desired results(what ev they may be.)

Nice work, thanks for sharing! I'm also a fan of treants, but haven't got around to making one just yet. Most the treant minis on the market really aren't great or worth the value. I do have an old Inhumanoids treant toy that I always leave on the table during play. He's kinda my avatar. I have a rather bizarre affinity for trees...
Again, good work!

Ok, I got some more paint on on them and I added a few more features to my big boy. I'm planning on getting some model tree foliage and super gluing or hot glue(don't know which will work best but I'll see soon enough) it the various twigs i shoved in 'em before the baking process. Also, DM Scotty, it was your video you made for the Shambler I wan't to say, that inspired me so and introduced me to well all of this. I only ever DM'd using the imagination of our minds. And Bloodchoke, I know what you mean about the trees. Maybe why I almost always run a Druid ha, ha!

You could try some dried Oregano on the head for foliage 'hair', maybe some on the forearms and back as well. Also, wrapping a chain necklace painted to look rusty, around the forearms or one of the legs is a nice touch. Good work on those, I like them.

This is some seriously awesome work, period! I have long since been looking for a way to do treants, but I didn't really like the variants I had found so far. Most were not bad, but nothing that make me want to base my versions on. Your's finally pushed me over, so this will be one of my next projects. *rubs twigs hands* Just one (silly) question: Is it only me or does the large one on the left look like being caught in a hip hop pose? (I tried to find something similar on google pciture search but could come up only with this and this. Not identical to your treant, but you'll get the idea...) Posing or not, it looks really cool! Especially the facial expression - they seem to be seriously pi**ed off! * leaves thumbs up*

Hey, wow! What a cool idea with A Siamese Treant! I love the one stuck with weapons, no wonder it looks right pissed off! Sticking twigs in looks good too. for a bark like texture, you might want to use that acrylic modelling paste. I'd use something with a flat point to create the rough bark look. It might take a little work to get it right, but I think it would look pretty cool and bark like. Another option is roughing up your sculpey after you get it dried. Painting faux bark texture is another way to go. I did it one on a druid figure and he looks like he's wearing tree bark cammo! Then again he is a druid....

Google-ing all of those ideas sir(Northtroll)! I've been trying to figure out how to get that rough bark look since I started! Thank you, thank, thank you!
As for Tauster's comment, the big'En was free handed, no mesh sculpted and when I first finished his hands were all the way up, above his head and when I opened the oven he was.. Caught dancing! (I knew Toy Story was based off a true story! They called me crazy!) But rather than tossing I found the new look very amusing.. Might be Otto's Irresistible Dance being cast on him.. he, he.

Google-ing all of those ideas sir(Northtroll)! I've been trying to figure out how to get that rough bark look since I started! Thank you, thank, thank you! Best* way of creating bark texture is, ...well... using bark: Grab a nice rough piece of bark and use it as a stamp. This is super-easy and creates a realistic-looking texture that would probably take longer than clay needs to dry (which can be several days) if you try to model it with a tool. At least with my modeling skills... * 'Best' in the sense of 'fastest and most realistic'. I know there is no one right/best way...
I started with pseudopods yesterday (see Scottie's turorial), so I took a few shots to show how bark texture can look. Of course it can look very different, depending on the type of bark you use as a stamp. I used a willow bark that I had already painted for use as a piece of rock in my games, but I was too lazy to rummage through the box with the dried bark pieces. I can recommend willow bark in general - it has a great texture for stamps and with black basepaint and some drybrushing looks very much like rock. anyways, here's the pseudopod WIP:

Impressive sculpting, very cool looking treants! I had some success creating tree-like texture using white glue and sand, though I think tausters method might be better for sculpted treants. If anyone is interested in the white glue + sand method it is described in dmscraft.freeforums.net/post/1605/thread
