Yes I finally did it! I might a found a new group to impress with my 2.5 craftings. Only problem is....we're not going to play in any d&d like setting, not in any Knights in shiny armour like thing, but in modern world! Yes you have it, cars busses, skyscrapers, planes, guns and carchases! That means that my cobblestoned roads, dungeon style halls and old fashioned tables will have to wait and I need to work fast....really fast. First gaming session is on tuesday!
So I need inspiration to create; a large appartment, a normal and one large(very large) yacht and maybe a buss! The reason I need all this stuff? I try to have my players decide for themselves where to go. Creates more work for me, but make my players feel more alive.
Tha appartment is easy enough, but the rest? how do I easiest create one or two large ships, yachts? And a buss? Maybe with weels?
Please help.....and fast!

For the bus I would go with a 3d approach. Here is a pic I found that may help. You could make the four sides and the bottom out of cardboard and paint them. I would leave the top open so you can put minis inside. For the boats i would make 2d tiles from a top view perspective. You could make several layers of the same shape to show the different floors of the boat. Hope this helps.

So just make all my modern tiles the same way as any fantacy style? But if I wan't the yacht's to look new and expencive and not old and wooden, what about colour and style?
Or should I just go for it and see what will happen? I'm a bit timid about this.

I would paint the yacht tiles white and then maybe put a coat of gloss varnish over it to make it look shiny and new. If you are artistic at all you should be able to make a fairly decent looking playable 2d boat. Go for it and see what happens, if it turns out bad you are only out some paint and cardboard.

Hello I am running a zombie Savage Worlds game where the first scenario takes place on a cruise ship. I used these seamless carpet tile patterns to create a sheet of carpet which I glued on the 2.5 D cardboard to create the hallways, cabins and casinos of the ship. The players all thought the cheesy carpet pattern was perfect and it cut down production since you do not have to paint the tiles. Just glue down the color print outs. Check this site out for nice carpet patterns seamless-pixels.blogspot.com/2012/11/brown-carpet-pattern.html

I have been alternating D&D games systems (Castle Ravenloft, Arshadalon, Drizzt) with Zombicide on a weekly basis for a change of pace and because my wife will actually play Zombicide. I got a lot of ideas from this thread. I especially liked dmbrad's bus! At the present I'm using the Zombicide tiles themselves but have added paper and cardboard accessories (home made doors with Hero Quest bases, desks, beds, etc). I have a few paper car models too. I had a 1D bus but I'm replacing that with the great dmbrad bus ASAP. Does anyone have any other sources of 3D vehicles like that bus? Especially Police, Ambulance or military (humvee) type stuff?

Sorry, a little late to the party, but... Try WorldWorks Games for 3-D card stock props, cars, and buildings: link. Hope this helps. There are other vendors, as well. Check out RPGNow.com, for more. Cheers!
