I tried my first set of dungeon tiles made in the 2.5 method. Originally, there was a final secret chamber off the dungeon drawn on the map there, but then I decided to expand slightly to test the cave tiles in play and worked in an all-time favorite monster--cave fishers (the plastic roach toys). I simply continued the dungeon tiles right off the map. I created a bit of an interlocking with a 3-way intersection...using one side of the tunnel to simply be the other half of wall of the round cave. Worked well IMO and kept them together. Also, I did the simple tiered stalagmite in the big cave, which did just fine to tell the story of the lurking cave fisher...that I let a character pull down to the ground. My daughter gave me some plastic bead "filament" that worked fine for the cave fishers' primary attacks. Also, the joke was that they could see a leftover "web" from the hot glue and asked if that was a real "tripline." I said no, but there was the line from the cave fisher--all serendipity. We laughed. I used brown with a gray highlight and it looked pretty good, I thought. I also decided to cut my cave walls using jagged straight line cuts rather than a curvy cut. I think that made it look a bit more rugged. Comments? Questions? Dungeon tiles for Cave Fisher encounter

Looks like a fun encounter. The fishing line was a cool idea. I think cheap plastic scorpions would make good looking cave fishers also. I like the jagged cave walls too.
