Looking Glass Deep is a free module written by Mike Mearls. If you were going to model the "garden area" outside the dungeon, would you simply use a green felt cloth with the wall, the buildings, the trees and the tents, or would you build a 31" by 30" tile that goes from the outside of the keep to the stairs going into the dungeon? That would be a huge dungeon tile if it was all done in one tile. Or would you do it with several tiles?

Are you putting towers in the corners, or do you have some corner tiles made?

Most furniture is just a rectangle shape and can easily be made from cardboard and cardstock. here is a nice pic of an inn made by Christopher Tennant who did just that. (of course his tables are round)... Wow, I like the fireplace. Was that done with the paste?

I've been toying with using "Army Men" sized toy action figures since they are much cheaper than buying gaming minis. That and paper counters. Only problem is, I've found a Cowboys and Indians Set, a Medieval Battle Set, and Pirate Set, all at the same scale. What is not present is monsters and what not. However, you can get animals in that same scale easily enough.

Okay, so you showed us how to make the regular stairway. How about those circular stairways found a many dungeons out there?

Hmmm... I think I know the answer, but how do you put a pit trap on a tile?

Yeah, I did see that one, only after I had posted this.

I play in mostly theatre of mind games, however, I'm very intrigued by crafting play tiles like I've seen on youtube from here. I play a D&D clone called Basic Fantasy RPG, so its easier to pull all of that off. However, I do intend to introduce elements of home-made play tiles. After all, adventures are made up of encounters no matter which game you use. I just like the flow I see from the gridless games DM Scotty has been showcasing. Kudos.

I would love to see you do a volcanic setting, with the lava pools and lava rivers, and the just cooled rocks. Not something like a realm of elemental fire, more like a natural volcanic setting as if you have to go into a dungeon/cavern on the side of an active volcano.
