I use pipe cleaners for the same thing. I picked up a multi-color pack at Michael's for just a few bucks and they come in handy for crafting as well as area markers. I am currently trying to turn some black ones into centipedes by shaving two sides with an electric razor leaving a fuzzy line on either side of the wire and using glue to stick the fuzz together to form legs. Here is another use for pipe ceaners: Tentacleswww.koboldpress.com/k/front-page13554.php

those are amazing, great job. I also like the different colored pipe cleaners, I am guessing for spell zones and/or conditions... Yep, I use those to mark area of effect spells that have a duration of longer than one round. In this case the purple was a Darkness spell and the green was a Grease spell. I am still trying to track down small packages of them that have black and brown in them, but have so far had no luck. I have found larger packages with black in it, but I don't need a whole bunch of them =( Thanks again for the compliments. I will likely have more pics this weekend after our Thursday night session. I will keep my eyes open to see if I can locate a store that may have some..

OK! We finally got to start To Delve the Dungeon Deep. My players fought several ghouls, a Giant Ogre Spider and managed to discover, decipher and avoid the Air trap. Got a few pics of the dungeon in action: The carved stone face containing the "air" trap. A powerful gust of air is blasted outward from the mouth sending the players flying back through the dungeon entrance and down a 15' cliff face. My clever party managed to figure it out and even tried to use it to lure a Giant Ogre Spider down a hallway and into the trap. too bad the spider was too big for the 5' corridor. The Giant Ogre Spiders Room; the spider is hiding among the webs 30 feet up along the ceiling. Two of the party are caught in a web and a third, the brave halfling monk LiSin has ventured further in to try and draw the spider down. (The orange dice represent the Dancing Lights the party used to illuminate the room.) Should get some more fun pics during next weeks session. Enjoy!

Thanks all! Hopefully we'll get a few more good pics after this weeks game to share as well.
Oh and I did manage to get my hands on some black (and a few other natural, useful coloured) pipe cleaners, as well as some bead pieces to use for various dungeon dressing as vases, sconces and other goodies.
Edit: Had to cancel my weekly game due to illness, so hope to have pics up from the next weeks game after we play that one =(

Tonights Game began with the group facing off against some Gray Oozes, then some Giant Scorpions and then the ancient Water Trap (unfortunately my photog was slacking and only got a couple of pics) Here's the group exploring the hallway containing the water trap just after the Barbarian ripped the door with the spikes in it off its' hinges. They had figured out that the spikes had indicated some kind of trap and decided to rip the door down to avoid it. Here is a close up of the Hydra headed fountain that was part of the water trap. The mouth on the top hydra opens up and sends a powerful stream of water, not unlike a fire hose, shooting down the hallway....in theory driving them into the spikes on the door.... Here the party regrouped after fighting three Skeletal Warriors that were inside the room that is off the left pf the hallway. It's floors were covered with a black mold that could sicken the party members if they failed their saves. All in all a good night, but I wish we had taken more pics... My group decided this week that we would make this campaign an every other week game and decided to alternate it with a new "Underdark" drow based campaign... I better get crackin on my Underdark tiles and scenery.....

Thanks! Just had to make a decision on how often we'll be playing as one of my regs needs it to be every other week instead of weekly. So we all discussed and decided that every other week for our Pathfinder campaign is cool to accomodate him, but the rest of us also decided that we are gonna play a campaign during those nights he won't make it. ( So most of us will still be weekly). For those off week games we decided we are going to try out 4th ed and run a drow pc based Underdark campaign. So I have to get cracking on my Underdark tiles and scenery, as well as learn a new rule set. We are gonna run the "Council of Spiders" D&D Encounters module and see how we like 4e. If we don't, we'll rewrite the chars for 3.5/Pathfinder and keep going, if we do like it we keep going so it's a win-win! I'll decide whether to start a new thread when we start getting some pics of the new stuff ... Wish me luck!

Again, great work, as always.
I'm interested in hearing your experiences with 4e, coming off Pathfinder/3.5. It gets a lot of hate, some of it deserved, but it's not a bad system. My players are video gamers, so they love the tactical combat and powerfully balanced classes. Really I'm just curious if you'll notice a difference in terms of roleplaying, immersion, player actions, etc. How much does the rules effect the culture of the game, i wonder? I've only ever played 2nd and 4th, and both with different groups, so I have no perspective on this.

Personally I'm having a bit of difficulty but I am willing to give it a chance. Pretty much the same with my group members that are gonna play it. We basically decided that we are gonna run through the module and then decide from there. I'll definitely share my thoughts and opinions on it. I expect we'll be modifying it a bit with house rules. I'm just hoping we enjoy it.

Thanks Cryevil. We just finished tonight session, which went pretty well. It was a bit odd though, because several of the players are playing in my 4e session and we all kept reverting to 4e on some of the rules and stuff, lol. I think I am going to have to do some adjusting as this sessions combat seemed much less intense than our recent forays with 4e. For some reason the tension levels were not as high. Here the players are engaging some dire rats, of course the big kitty (the oracle's snow leopard companion) thought someone rang the dinner bell, lol. Sadly she ended up contracting filth fever for her impetuousness. You can also see the Earth elemental that was inadvertently summoned by the party, luckily it was neutral to their presence. Here they have encountered a portion of the dungeons current kobold population, who are merely trying to defend their home. our barbarian was a spinning whirling slaughter house this fight... Here you can see the party wizard looking down the well after a skulk made its escape by jumping in and going down. More to come later Edit: Wanted to point out that the orange dice you see in the pics are the lights from a dancing lights spell that was cast. I really need to get some marbles to use for that, lol....

Absolutely gorgeous swamp tiles (page 1 of this thread)! I love the giant beetle crawling down the passageway... I would run like the wind, home to my Mommy -- and a clean pair of pants! Incredibly inspiring. What a blast for your players! They are spoiled beyond belief -- they may not realize how good they have it in your games, for years to come, if ever... Cheers!

Thanks;) The sewer run was a fun time for all. Sadly they didn't go down that particular side and run into Ringo (the beetle). LOL
