Hello everyone, I'm new here but not in the crfting world Back in the past (10 years ago) I was an appasionate Warhammer and Confrontation player. And I sucked at it, I never won a battle. Still I was good at crafting and I had an agreement with the local miniature shop to make sceneries (and I was payed in miniatures...). Then time passes, university kicked my social life, then my job kicked my social life in the balls and I stopped. But now it's summer break and I had some free time. I don't play WH anymore but I'm still a D&D GM and GM Scotty inspired me to come back into craft. At the moment I'm back into miniatures, usually for the background I draw it at the moment or I use some dungeon tiles. Maybe in the future. I had some old heroclix character around, so I repaint a couple of them. A cookie for the one who guess the original characters. tiefling warlockearth elemental

I will not go for the cookie as your explinations say what mini you used. :-)
But I think you did a great job with Dr. Doom. I love the repaint you did.

Thank you. I have another one, I'm thinking of another color scheme. Any idea for another creature with goat leg?

Thank you. I have another one, I'm thinking of another color scheme. Any idea for another creature with goat leg? You go with a Satyr of course.

You go with a Satyr of course. I had the same idea but I don't fell that trenchcoat good for a satyr. Well, in the middle another mini. earth elementalThis one is made from scrap, litteraly. After the last Thing conversion I got this idea to make some elementals with pebbles, so I took some smal rocks in my garden and tried to put them together in an humanoid form. It was a disaster. So plan B, I made a wire armor shaped in a gorillesque structure, I bathe it in glue and cover it with the sand I use for the bases, then I add some spikes (also sand, only a bigger grain), black coat, a lot of dry brush, some fake grass and the Heroclix base from the last conversion and it's done! I'm happy wih the result, the only problem is that the base is a little small, but it was the only one I have around.

The Elemental looks wonderful. I think you did a great job. I do agree the base is too small for the figure though. I think I would take it up one base size. But either way, wonderful job there.

Another one. I'm not happy with this one, it looks like a toilet paper mummy. I don't know if it's the material (again paper and glue, so basically it's a toilet paper mummy), the sculpt or the color, but I don't see it like something made of air. Any suggestion? Air elemental

Yeah, this is a perfect opportunity for the blast effect that miniGIRL uses for her blast bases.
Some swirling and flying chunks of debris around the elemental would look great in my opinion. You could even (possibly) put some hot glue wisps coming off of the elemental to give a bit of a chaotic appearance.

I bought a glue gun and I tested it today with this one. I failed with the explosion effect but I made some nice texture for this one. New air elemental

Great job on all the minis. I love conversions or scratch built. Does that fire elemental have an Iron Man figure inside as a base? The pose looks similar to one I picked up last night at Dollar Tree. Have you ever tried using clear plastic like from a sandwich baggie or celophane as part of an air elemental? I haven't, just an idea. I was thinking that a stretched layer or two could be anchored to the base or some more substantial body parts...

For all the elementals I use an armor of steel wires, you can see the process in the water elemental image. I had the same idea with the celophane, but unfortunately the wires I use are covered in green plastic. I had a nice result with cotton and glue, but I'm not so good at modelling cotton as I am with the paper.

One more, I have time to waste before my job strikes back. I had around some little bricks, so I made this Dragon Quest inspired golem Golem

That is a great idea for the cube. It looks like a clear plastic bag of sorts taped into shape (over a box to get the shape?) then hot glue for texture and stability.
