I stopped by my local Walmart tonight and stumbled on their Zerboz section. Zerboz are blind packed themed miniatures that come in an easter egg like ping pong sized ball, they are usually displayed hanging up in big tubes in the Action figure or Hot Wheels isle of Walmart. They are normally 97 cents at Walmart but the Walmart had them on clearance for 50 cents. The varieties were Marvel Heroes, Military, DC Heroes, and Power Rangers. I looked at the miniatures on the display and saw a couple in the Marvel wave that looked promising for customs. So took a shot and bought 6 of em for 3 bucks. Here's what I got (pictured with D&D minis for scale): Magneto (got 2 of these), Venom, a clear figure, Daredevil and: DR. Doom. Which I promptly turned into the Warforged character my current campaign desperately needed a miniature for. I can finally retire the D&D Hammerer robot mini that our group used for any robotic character lol. The scale is slightly smaller than the WOTC D&D minis. When placed with Human D&D miniatures they look small, the Marvel ones I got are basically the same size as the D&D elf miniatures. When based and painted they look right at home with other D&D minis. I think I will re-purpose all the ones I got tonight into a D&D mini. Add a paper clip staff to Daredevil to make a Thief Acrobat, Venom can easily become any number of monsters, The Magnetos will probably be repainted into some kind of caster class, and the clear figure will probably be used for when players the party caster casts invis on themselves. I may go buy some more of these. There's a Human Torch and Thing figure that would make good Elementals, A Storm figure that would make a great Sorceress, and a Grey Hulk that would make a nice monster.

I've been doing the same thing I love the little terrain pieces the army guys come with (the old wooden road sign's my favorite) & I was lucky enough to find Green Arrow in the DC collection the good old Emerald Archer makes an excellent ... well archer hehehe ... & the clear ones could make good invisible markers oh & try looking for the power ranger ones their villains look very fantasy-like I'm currently using one as a recurring Boss & I've been toying with the idea of using the rangers themselves as a group of bumbling wannabe heroes that keep messing up my PCs encounters 'til they help them with a quest & lastly because of all the superheroes I've decided to do a D20 modern campaign set at a comic-con it'll let me use all the heroes & villains as NPCs without the need to convert them
