I want to go to this Tile Crafting Convention that does not yet exist in real life.
Spend a weekend learning about crafting tiles, actually crafting tiles, playing RPG's with tiles and maybe having a few fun and light contests.
Contests like Speed tile making - must end this contest with the same numbers of fingers you started with.
Iron GM style contest - Best DMing using tiles and such
My friend kickstarted a convention called MaricopaCon - August 3-4th
While making plans for what to play / do at MaricopaCon - I thought HMMMM !
Would Scotty Con be a possibility?
Kickstarter and a few months notice so I can still make my house payment = fun weekend with friends
Broadcast over the Net as Scotty has an international following !
If meeting in real life is too much maybe it is a virtual con over G+ hangouts.
Thoughts ?

Hey Neil,
I found a great idea! If you have a video conference ... that's where I'll be happy in life!!!!!!!!!!!! I do not know what time zone difference, but I'll be sleepless if necessary! :-)

I am crafting a 747 as we speak, I need more lollypop sticks MORE!!!! I think we need some sort of figures as to where everyone lives on this forum. I am pretty sure it is far too spread out for physical gatherings. I would have a problem with not knowing the lay of the land and where the best dumpsters are for cardboard and polystyrene... Maybe you could do a networked ScottyCon Global. So each major region who may have 5 or more people holds a gathering (beer and cheetos) and they are all connected via webcams to the GLOBAL SCOTTYCON NEXUS (Scotty's basement dungeon complex he's been secretly crafting for 10 years I saw from my spy satellite).

Except of course, that this entire enterprise is based on making your own stuff, for as little money as possible... But yeah, as Middle Earth representative, I am in!

The logistics / problems of getting together an actual con / meeting in real life are many and difficult. As the DMG says we are an international group. Just in the replies to this wish we have people from New Zealand, Australia, Brazil and America. Even getting virtual con going some people are going to have a time that is unpleasant. It would be cool to have a beer, talk, game and create with the people who participate here. In a very divisive, strange, edition wars / my rule set is right hobby - this group seems to be about doing things, supporting and having some fun. This whole thing that is going on here is an oasis in a desert of ego. Anyway maybe that is overblown back to the point - At some time and place in the future it would be interesting to put a virtual or actual meet / greet together. I would be in for helping with the logistics and actual work of such a thing.

If we were to arrange a meet at a much larger event like gencon, that more people may be attending, this would be more suitable. I do wish to travel to Gencon one day which is an international journey. A con within a con...
