The tile uses fishtank gravel for the walls, instead of cardboard, still attached with hot glue.
The beholder ia made out of tinfoil and sculpey oven bake clay..
The coin pile is glitter poured over a puddle of hot glue and painted with craft paint.

Like the texture on the ground and the fishtank gravel for the walls looks great.

Well we all know I love beholders Well done, way better than my first effort (I still haven't even painted it, its too busy being used in the game!) Where are those adventurer miniatures from? They look pretty old school.

The cleric is from black tree design miniatures, the thief is a converted abd repainted Hero Clix figure named Dr Alchemy.
The barrels are from renedra.
Thanks everyone for the kind words.

That is a heck of good looking tile. I love the rocks as walls -- that really sells the underground feel. Cool idea for the coin pile. Also, that beholder looks pretty danged good.

Is the floor just texture paint? It looks fantastic.

The floor is cardboard spray painted black, then texture spray paint done fairly lightly so some of the black shows through, it will look like you did too little til it drys, the inside edge of the walls was given a black wash to emulate shadow, the whole tile was sealed with a gloss spray sealer followed by a flat spray.

Leveraging these is also my first tile with the technique of DM's Craft, I did a "steam" for the Game The Mummy (SavageWolrds) and wanted something easy to move your counters and miniatures! Again, THANK ESCOTTY! FOR TIPS AND TRICKS! PLAYERS WILL LOVE IT!
I have not found a good idea to make paint like wood, but I think this color is closer!

The first thing I made with these techniques was the small boat from the video. For the wood planks I used individually cut and glued cardboard strips, which gives it a texture that is very easy to paint and highlight. It takes while to cut and glue, but you can add nice details (holes, warped planks, etc.) very easily.

Although it doesn't give as nice of a texture as some of the wooden floors comprised of individual planks, I actually used some vinyl flooring tiles I found at the local hardware store. They are 12" x 12" vinyl tiles made to look like wood, stone, marble, or whatever flooring type you can imagine. For a 12" x 12" piece of the wood looking one, I paid $0.79/tile which is more expensive than the card-board but still not a bad alternative for quickly putting together some nice looking flooring. I'll end up posting my tiles when I get them finished to show people what they looked like but they scored easily and had adhesive bottoms so they were easy to assemble. Anyways, little more money than usually but a lot less hassle. Link to item: www.homedepot.com/p/Deluxe-Regal-Wood-12-in-x-12-in-Laminated-Vinyl-Tile-76014/100204671#.UhPKsmRgaww
