I have been wanting to get some dice towers for my group lately but all of the ones I could find were kinda pricey. So I decided to make one out of cardboard to see how it would work. Here is my prototype that I tore one of the sides off of to show you guys what it looks like on the inside. As you can see it is a simple construction, just made with hot glue and cardboard. It is also quite sturdy, in fact, it held together so well I decided that I could do the same thing with some thin plywood that I had. No nails or clamps needed. I made 3 of them. I painted them all with black and texture paint, then sponged on the other colors. Purple, green and blue. I also used a piece of a rubber place mat that I cut to fit and line the bottom. This keeps the dice from wanting to bounce out, which they did occasionally with out the matting. They work great and were super cheap, especially if you just use the cardboard. I suggest making one out of cardboard first and use those pieces as templates for a wooden one. Thanks for looking! DMBrad

I did the same thing using foam core poster board, hot glue and a couple toothpicks to keep the baffles from getting knocked loose from die drops. MUCH cheaper than the available towers and we get to decorate them ourselves

Hey DMBrad, good suggestion! :-)
In Brazil we have a thick cardboard, very heavy called Parana(not sure what the english name) might work without wood!
Liked it! I'll try to make one and post the photos.

I used foamcore with mine also but cut slots in the sides for the baffles to slide in. Then I skinned the outside with print outs from a WWG kit.

I'm training the cat to roll dice. In the end I am just feeding him tuna in large quantities and he is looking at me. No dice rolling action there. Damn cats!

Thanks zellybrown! I made mine out of foamboard. It took me a couple days but it looks amazing! I'll try and post a pic later. Thanks for the inspiration and instructions!

Awesome idea, definitely going on the list. It sometimes gets difficult to find a good spot to roll on our table when it gets crowded, especially with the felt rolled out. Problem solved...
